Nestled along Boreas Pass near Breckenridge is the historic Section House cabin.Built in 1882, the Section House was originally a home for nearby Denver, South Park, and Pacific railroad workers and their families, and served in this capacity until the route was abandoned in the 1930s.Sadly, after the railroad and home were abandoned, the Section House began to decay and collapse until the 1990s, when both the US Forest Service and the Colorado Historic Society teamed up to restore and renovate the property.When you visit today, you will not only find the original exterior still intact, but many charming interior features like a cozy wood-burning stove……Rustic wooden walls……And beautiful antique furnishings.In addition to all of the above, the Section House can comfortably sleep 12 and boasts access to some of the best outdoor recreation in the state!The Section House starts at $35 per person/per night and can be booked via the Summit Huts Association’s website.
