With the holiday season fast approaching and the thought of gift-related credit card debt looming overhead, you may be feeling a bit down and stressed. Does this sound about right? If so, you deserve a quick Colorado getaway that will both relax and rejuvenate you, which can be found by taking a hike to these little-known hot springs:
When it comes to the ultimate in relaxation, there is nothing better than resting in warm, mineral-infused water, which can often be costly to do unless you take our advice and head over to the FREE Radium Hot Springs!
Located along the banks of the Colorado River near Kremmling, Radium Hot Springs is the very definition of a hidden gem and can be reached via a short hike.
Consisting of a small, 20-foot-wide pool, Radium is relaxing not only because of its water but also because of its pristine river, cliff, and tree-lined surroundings.
Please note: To access Radium Hot Springs, you must hike a moderate (albeit beautiful) 1.1-mile loop trail, so come prepared with not only your swimsuit but hiking boots as well.
Can you imagine soaking away your worries in this setting? Heaven, right?
Do you want to make an entire weekend out of your visit? You can easily do so, as Radium is surrounded by two world-class campgrounds, including the Mugrage Campground (which is first-come, first-serve, and free!) and Radium Recreation Site (which starts at only $6 per night).
The trailhead for Radium Hot Springs is located just off County Road 111 and – though open year-round – is best used between March and October.
